Can Whole Grains safe your life?

Last week I was feeling a bit upset after hearing that my friend's (Natalia) mother was diagnose with a pancreatic tumor. I then went to do my laundry and I met with a lady who used to come to the bar I used to work on Mondays. I was excited to see her, but then she told me she has not been well. She told me she has been going to the hospital for Angina Treatment, restricted blood flow in the arteries that supply the heart.
The interesting thing is that both of these people had told me "Oh Ricardo, I wish my diet was as healthy as yours. I probably wouldn't be dealing with this condition now" Well...I can't really say they are 100% right, because there is always the Karma factor, but in both of these cases they might be right...Many studies have shown that people who eat a diet based on whole grains, beans, vegetables and small amount of animal protein have a lower chance to develop heart disease and most types of cancer.
For example:
A study by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that people who eat just one serving of whole-grain cereal a day are as much as 20% less likely to die from heart disease, diabetes, or cancer than those who do not. There is no need to wait until you are diagnose with a terminal disease to start eating better. If there is one word I would love for you to think about, that word would be PREVENTION! which is the key word that differenciates Oriental medicine from Western medicine.
As the Yellow Emperor states:
"The sages of ancient times emphasized not the treatment of disease, but rather the prevention of its occurrence. To administer medicine to disease which has already develop and to suppress revolts which have already begun is comparable to the behavior of one who begins to dig a well after he has become thirsty or one who begins to forge weapons after he has engage in battle. Would these actions not be too late?"
